Summit Background

As one of the indication of world economy, the international insurance industry has witnessed fast and sustainable development in recent years; however, the financial crisis caused by subprime lending has definitely imposed a great impact on insurance companies. How will international insurance capacity, competition and pricing be affected by economy recovery? What is the future trend of global insurance markets? China is a good entry point.

Attributed to the open-up and reform policy, Chinese insurance industry has experienced rapid growth, showing great potential in the last ten years. In 2010, premium income of the first half year has increased by 33.6% on the same period last year. The latest revised China Insurance Law has been implemented by the State Council last year. Regulations on insurance capital investment as well as internal control have been released recently. International insurers find more and more opportunities with the improvement of legal environment of Chinese insurance industry.

The summit will provide an effective platform on which the participants will familiarize themselves with China's policies and regulations on the insurance industry in order to gain better understanding of China's insurance market, thus optimizing development strategies in China.
