Mazars appoints new partners in China

Mazars is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Victor Wei, Ms. Chongming Wu, Ms. Yingmei Wu, Mr. Joe Xu, and Ms. Julia Zhen as Equity Partners; Ms. Margot Han and Mr. Peter Law as Partners.

Victor Wei joined Mazars in Shanghai in 2007 and has over 14 years of experience, including several years spent with a “Big 4” audit firm. Victor has taken part in audit, due diligence and agreed-upon procedures assignments for large international clients. Victor has a good understanding of internal control system on different fields. During his audit experience, Victor specialized in audit and transactions services. He has good knowledge of the Chinese tax and business environment, as well as the IFRS and Chinese Accounting Standards. He has an extensive experience in providing transaction service for international groups in China.

Chongming Wu joined Mazars in Shanghai in 2002. With over 13 years’ experience in auditing, Chongming acquired deep knowledge in international and Chinese accounting, tax and business regulations. Chongming has taken part in audit, due diligence and agreed-upon procedures assignments for large international clients all over China. She has performed both statutory audit and reporting work. Chongming also gained consolidation, IFRS and US GAAP experience.

Yingmei Wu joined Mazars in Beijing in 2006 as a qualified CICPA. With over 15 years in professional accounting world, Yingmei has acquired proven experiences in auditing, accounting (on PRC GAAPs, IFRS and US GAAPs), taxation and business advisory. Yingmei has coordinated and conducted audit, financial due diligence, GRIC (governance, risk management, and internal control), consolidation assignments for both large Chinese SOEs and multinationals all over China; and her portfolio includes clients of industry, service, agriculture and association. Yingmei also contributed to the office’s internal management (recruitment, resources planning, training development and delivery, as well as teambuilding events organization). She has been seen as role model by the young collaborators in the office.

Joe Xu joined Mazars in Shanghai in 2008 and has 14 years of a combined experience in Mazars and Big-4. Joe has deep knowledge in international and Chinese accounting standards, tax and business regulations as well as the practice of business operations. He has assisted a large number of international companies to set up their businesses in the PRC and provided ongoing advisory services to their business operations in the PRC, including audit assurance service, internal control and corporate governance compliance advisory services.

Julia Zhen joined Mazars in Beijing in 2003 and is currently leading the Accounting & Outsourcing team in Beijing, which is composed of both local and expatriate professionals. She has over 12 years of experience in providing accounting, tax and outsourcing services to investors, including owner-managed businesses as well as multinational corporations. Julia adopts a practical hands-on and flexible approach to help companies to set up in China as well as to solve day-to-day complex issues related to business operations in China.

Margot Han joined Mazars in Shanghai in 2006 and has almost 10 years Accounting and Outsourcing service experiences. She has a solid technical knowledge about the Chinese accounting, tax and business environment as well as the international accounting standard and the French accounting regulations. She delivers the adequate solutions and personalized accounting advisory to our clients in different types of industries. Margot has accumulated rich experience in building team, developing people which make our team to work more efficiently.

Peter Law joined Mazars Hong Kong in 2003 and was seconded to Shanghai in 2008 to set up tax advisory practice in Mainland China. He has over 20 years’ experience in providing tax and advisory services. His professional knowledge is well round and covers all aspects of PRC taxes that enterprises and individuals in China are facing.

He is actively involved in structuring PRC and overseas cross border transactions such as performing PRC transfer pricing review between related parties, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and group restructuring exercises.  Peter is a frequent speaker on China tax.
