Background

ML is currently Executive Chairman of Mazars Hong Kong. He graduated from University College London in 1974 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978. In 1979 he was recruited by KPMG (then known as "Peat Marwick Mitchell") and returned to work in their Hong Kong office. Between 1980 and 1982 he was the Regional Finance Director of a UK listed company. Since 1985 ML has been a partner with the firm and its predecessor firm, with extensive experience in assurance, business advisory and investigation works. He is a council member and treasurer of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and a member of the HKICPA's Investigation Panel (Panel B).

ML has served on several government bodies and statutory appeal boards including the Consumer Council, the Town Planning Appeal Board, the Municipal Services and Administration Appeal Board. He has also served as a member of the Inland Revenue Board of Review for 9 years. He participated actively in community affairs and had served as an appointed member of the District Board of Tai Po for 3 terms and been appointed by the government of the PRC as a District Advisor. In 1995 ML was awarded the Badge of Honour by the HK Government.
ML is also a member of the HKICPA's Investigation Panel (Panel B) and Environment and Conservation Fund Committee.
